Overview

Axi Recruitment is working with an established fashion retail brand based in Leeds for an experienced Buyer to join their team in a senior capacity.

The role of the Senior Buyer will be responsible for buying and developing product across multiple categories and will identify new opportunities for sales growth.

Job Details

 

• Build a range that meets and exceeds the budget expectations each season, bringing remarkable, interesting, and exciting product to the market in-line with brand handwriting.
• Responsible for delivering margin in-line with targets and selling price in-line with the agreed pricing arch.
• Ensure knowledge of competitors and market trends is used to define ranges and identify new opportunities for sales growth in-line with the brand.
• Present product ranges for sign-off to owners/CEO.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Assess quality initiatives alongside QA, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty drive decision-making.
• Collaborate with Merchandise Team on all planning and framework brief for each season in line with budgets and target set, build plans to exceed expectations.
• Ensure the department is well organised and all administration is ordered and on time.
• Manage sustainability initiatives based on targets.
• Manage and maintain critical path alongside Merchandising and QA Departments.
• Liaise and brief creative teams on content for paper pagination layouts for each catalogue drop.
• Deliver a photography brief for each product launch.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree is desirable.

Experience

 

• At least 5 years as a Buyer within the fashion retail market. 
• Understanding of the planning and trading complexities associated with multi-channel retailing of own branded merchandise. 
• Good numerical and analytical skills to optimise trading performance.
• Strong negotiating skills to drive margin.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
