This is a key senior role with full responsibility for the plant finance function, ensuring best-in-class accounting, forecasting, and statutory reporting. As a core member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting strategic and operational business decisions. Our client is a market-leading provider within their niche.
Job Details
- As part of the SLT, partnering closely with the Plant Manager to support day to day operations and overall facility performance.
- Maintain strong internal control processes to ensure compliance, accuracy, and financial governance across the site.
- Oversee the accuracy and integrity of all financial accounts, ensuring the accounting function consistently aligns with board policy and recognised accounting standards.
- Prepare annual budgets, produce monthly management accounts, and generate weekly financial forecasts in line with business needs.
- Deliver routine and proactive financial reporting to support decision making and enable effective business planning.
- Provide analytical, investigative, and advisory insight on commercial matters and business impacts.
- Support the payroll process by acting as the primary link between site team members and the external payroll team.
- Ensure that all required ledgers, records, and accounting documents—such as payroll files and expense allocations—are maintained to meet both internal and statutory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with external auditors to complete year end statutory accounts.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure all tax returns are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Develop and manage systems to monitor departmental KPIs and budgets, ensuring performance targets are tracked and controlled.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing capital expenditure proposals, supporting the evaluation of major projects.
- Build knowledge of product costing structures to support pricing, efficiency analysis, and wider financial understanding.
- Produce clear profitability insights at product and customer level to support strategic commercial decisions.
Qualifications
- Professionally qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA)
Experience
- Proven experience within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to information.
- Proven analytical thinking, results orientation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational skills in handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously with high attention to details and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of contacts from corporate to manufacturing employees.
